yeah, I remember a couple of people talking about it on this board a while ago. It seems all you have to do is to find a way to re-wire the wire to another relay, or was it to another switch? I forget. I'm sure if you do a search, it'll come up. I am too lazy right now to do it. =) Time to go study too. Good luck and let us know if you succeed.

On the 98's is a modification to the foglight relay. I cant say for sure if your model would work the same, I've never seen under the hood of a 99 or newer.

Anyone who's interested in allowing turning on the fog without turning on the headlight here goes. I received this info from JoeCruz (ID:HighUp at the edmunds.com Pathfinder member forum). Here goes. I believe this only works for 99.5 to 2002 Pathys. Enjoy!!!!******************************************** Parts 3 short lengths (3-5 inches) of 14 guage wire appropriate wire connecters ie spade connectors and push on (like what speakers use) 1 long length of 16 gauge wire. What to do Find the foglamp relay in the engine compartment. Pull it out and wire points 2-3-5 on the relay to it's respective mounting slots...ie 2 to 2, 3 to 3, and 5 to 5. You will be using the 3 short wires for this. Do a good job here. Don't wrap the wire around relay points or push bare wires into the slots. With the long wire, attach with a connector to number 1 ON THE RELAY. Now run this wire to where you can find +12v when the ignition is turned on. I have an aftermarket alarm and I tapped into the ignition lead. I hope the pictures came out. There was an empty spot next to where the relay was so I just stuffed in headfirst. So there you go. Fog lamps on with ignition on with or without the low beams on. The fog lamps will turn off when the highbeams on. Also don't have to worry the fogs will be on when you're just parked listening to tunes and with key in acc position. ********************************************* I also have couple pic of how its setup to get the idea of it. But I can post up the image. So if someone can do it for me I'll e-mail you the pictures so you can post them. Just post your e-mail on this thread. Thanks

UPDATE!
For the wiring for 99.5-2000 is little different. For 99.5-2000 Pathys, its basically samething except, you'll need to switch 1 and 2. Where as 2 will connect to +12V. Then other wires are from 1 to 1, 3 to 3, and 5 to 5...

someone asked me to add pics to help them out on this so this one is with my lid removed. the wire that comes strait out of the box is the one i ren through my firewall and connected to the acc wire. i cut a slot in the lid with a dremil tool to allow the wire to slide through and not get pinched

here is a close up with the lid removed. The spot on the box with out a wire going to it is the plug on the relay i ran to the acc and in my case i did not need to cross any wires, i ran them strait to where they would go if the relay was properly installed. Also I had a empty spot in the box that i could put the relay (luckly me!) I did trim the skirt a little with the dremil tool to allow the lid to properly shut.

here is a pic with my lid shut to better show the wire going through the lid. The other colored wires are for my offroad lights and are going to a universal relay.
Hope this could help you man and any one else that wants to do this mod! It really is easy!
